Cosmetology School in Plainfield

At TSPA we know that a career in cosmetology is not just about a haircut or passing the state board exam; it’s about innovation in hair color and techniques, basic skin and nail care, knowledge of business strategies, and training in guest services. Our Redken-infused cosmetology program will not only prepare you for the state board exam, but more importantly, for a long-term career in the industry.

Program Details

1,500 Hours

All programs will consist of 1500 hours.

Full-time schedules are: Mon-Thurs 9-5 p.m. plus Fridays 9-4 p.m. for 15 weeks in foundations, and after that students will transition to our student salon training area for the remainder of the program. At that point, two 1-9 p.m. shifts will be implemented into the schedule. Saturday shifts from 9-5 p.m. may also be included. Advanced theory students will receive set floor schedule 2 weeks before starting that phase of the program. Full-time students will always be scheduled 34 hours a week.

Part-time schedules are: 5-9 p.m. for 30 weeks, Mon-Thurs in foundations. Once students transition to the student salon training area, the schedule will be Mon-Thurs 5-9 p.m. with one "off" day mixed in during the week plus Saturdays 9-5 p.m. for remainder of the program. Part-time students will cover 16 hours a week in foundations, then 19 hours a week thereon after.
